Checklist and revised instructions on how to complete applications for authorisation of plant protection products

Date: 17.07.2015

Concerning the applications for authorisation of plant protection products, the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) created a checklist and revised the instructions on completing applications.

An application for authorisation of plant protection products requires various information about the product. Moreover, an application contains a broad set of documents for which the EU has set down detailed requirements concerning their content and structure. In order to facilitate the procedure, the BVL established a checklist which is intended as a supplement to the exhaustive instructions on completing. The checklist focuses on the points which, as experience has shown, often lead to mistakes in applications and can be easily avoided by using the self-checking technique. Improving the quality of applications facilitates the administration of authorities and avoids time-consuming enquiries during the initial check of incoming applications.

In addition, a revised version of the instructions on how to complete an application for authorisation was published. For this purpose the updated version of the application form was taken into consideration.
