The registration mark of the BVL identifies the authorised plant protection product. The mark may be printed optionally either on the packaging or on the label of the plant protection product; however, it is obligatory to print the name of the product and the authorisation number. The mark may also be printed in black-and-white.

The registration mark may also be used for plant protection products, for which the BVL has granted a parallel trade permit. In this case the word "zugelassen" is to be dropped, and the GP-number is to be quoted instead of the authorisation number.
