The Journal of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (JCF) publishes peer-reviewed research in the fields of food, feed and consumer products as well as crop protection products, veterinary drugs, genetic engineering and consumer health protection.

The JCF is a peer-reviewed journal issued by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety. With the first issue of volume 12, the main title of the journal will be in English. With this change, the JCF acknowledges the increasing amount of international submissions as well as English as the lingua franca in science. The German name of the journal will be kept as the sub-title.

Research papers – written in German or English – are published as Research Articles, Reviews, Methods and Short Communications. The JCF also presents Opinion Articles as well as Announcements and Reports about administrative surveillance or congress reports.

The JCF is published by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety and provides information for authorities and institutions as well as other organisations and companies especially in Germany but also in the European Union and worldwide.

The JCF is listed by Thomson ISI (Institute for Scientific Information) with an impact factor since 2009.
